文献：Anton P. P,et al.Effect of Citalopram on Agitation in Alzheimer Disease.JAMA. 2014;311(7):682-691. 　激越を有するアルツハイマー病疑い患者186人を対象に、シタロプラムの激越抑制効果を無作為化プラセボ対照二重盲検試験で評価（CitAD試験）。シタロプラム群ではプラセオ群に比べ、神経行動評価尺度-激越下位尺度（NBRS-A）と修正版アルツハイマー病共同研究-変化の臨床全般印象度（mADCS-CGIC）のスコアが有意に改善した。

米国精神医学会（APA）は9月21日、夜間の弱い光がうつの原因になるとの研究結果を紹介した。学会の発行する同日号の「Psychiatric News」に掲載している。 　もともとオハイオ大学の研究グループが、薄暗い光がうつの要因になるという研究を報告していた。さらに「Molecular Psychiatry」誌（7月号）で基礎的な研究結果を報告し、動物が薄暗い光に慢性的にさらされると、うつ行動を増やし、脳の海馬でTNFを増加させると発表した。 　学会は、研究グループの意見に触れて、「夜寝る時はテレビを消して、カーテンを閉めることが、うつを防ぐには大切」と勧めている。
